Law and Gospel: Why start with the bad news? →What is the gospel?
The word "gospel" means "good news." To understand how good this news is, you first need to understand how serious the bad news is. The following six points are a concise explanation of the gospel from the Bible.
God is Holy and Just
He is the Creator, His law is perfect, and He cannot tolerate sin.(Isaiah 6:3)
All Have Sinned
Measured by God's Ten Commandments, no one can be called a "good person"; we are all sinners.(Romans 3:23)
Judgment is Real
After death, people will face God's judgment; the consequence of sin is death and hell.(Hebrews 9:27; Romans 6:23)
Christ Died for Sinners
Jesus Christ is the sinless Son of God who bore the penalty for sinners on the cross.(1 Peter 3:18)
Christ Rose from the Dead
He was buried, and His body was resurrected on the third day, proving that God accepted His sacrifice and that He is the Lord who conquered death.(1 Corinthians 15:3–4)
Repent and Believe in Christ
God commands people to turn from sin and trust in Jesus Christ alone to receive forgiveness and eternal life as a free gift.(Mark 1:15; Ephesians 2:8–9)
Four Steps for Conversation: From Conscience to the Cross
The Lord Jesus said to the man He delivered from demons, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you and how he has had mercy on you.” (Mark 5:19) Evangelism doesn't require eloquence, but it does require understanding the gospel, praying for people, and being willing to speak. The following four steps are not guaranteed techniques, but a biblical sequence: present the bad news first, so the good news will be precious.
Conscience
Start with their perspective: Do you think you are a good person? Listen first, don't rush to refute.
Ten Commandments
Examine ourselves together by God's standard, including our inner motives. (See Matthew 5:28)
The Cross
What God has done for sinners in Christ: His substitutionary death and resurrection. (See 2 Corinthians 5:21)
Response
Repent and trust in Christ; invite the other person to read the Gospel of John together. (cf. Mark 1:15)

Pray first, listen first, then explain clearly. Includes specific tips for parents, spouses, and children, addressing issues of ancestors and filial piety.

Read →Planting and watering are our responsibilities
"I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth."1 Corinthians 3:6
We cannot make anyone believe in the Lord, nor do we offer any "success methods." Our responsibility is to faithfully, clearly, and gently proclaim Christ; it is God who causes people to repent and believe. Therefore, even if your family members do not respond for a time, your prayers and testimony are not in vain. "Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ." (Romans 10:17)
